Soccer Hosts Oklahoma Sunday

Oct. 25, 2015

FORT WORTH - The TCU women's soccer team is set to return to the pitch Sunday afternoon when it hosts Oklahoma at 1. The game will be televised on FSSW+.

A severe weather system ripped through the North Texas area Friday forcing TCU's match against Baylor to be postponed until Tuesday. It'll have been 14 days since the Horned Frogs last took the field when they kick off against Oklahoma on Sunday. The friendly confines of Garvey-Rosenthal have been good to the Frogs this season who are 6-1 at home.

Oklahoma is coming off a 2-1 victory at Texas on Friday night. All three goals were scored in the second half. The Sooners rallied from a 1-0 deficit on goals by Jordyn Knox Webster and Caren Nelson to improve to 2-2-2 in Big 12 play. For Nelson the goal was her team-leading fifth and her second game-winning goal of the season. In goal, Kassadie Stade made four saves on five shots.

TCU and Oklahoma will be meeting for the 12th time in school history. Oklahoma leads the series 7-2-2. Since 2000, Oklahoma is 6-0-2 including a 2-0-1 mark since TCU joined the Big 12. The series in Fort Worth is tied a 2-2-1 all-time. The two teams played to a 1-1 draw in Norman last season. The Horned Frogs’ last win in the series came on Sept. 18, 1999 when the Frogs won 1-0 in Fort Worth.
