Soccer Wraps Up Home Schedule Tuesday

FORT WORTH - TCU will wrap up its home schedule Tuesday night when it hosts Baylor in a rescheduled match. Game time is set for 7 p.m. at Garvey-Rosenthal.

TCU returned to the soccer pitch on Sunday afternoon after a 14-day break. The Horned Frogs played to a scoreless draw against Oklahoma to run its home unbeaten streak to four games (3-0-1). Courtney Hofer made four saves in earning her first career shutout. Makenzie Koch and Emma Heckendorn tied for the team lead with four shots apiece.

Baylor is coming off a 2-1 win at Texas on Sunday. Baylor has just one loss in its last 12 matches (9-1-2). Two goals three minutes apart in the second half stood up as the difference in the match. Katie Daigle broke the scoreless game by converting a penalty kick and Lauren Piercy scored what proved to be the game-winner in the 68th minute. Sara Martinson made three saves to give the Bears the win.

TCU and Baylor will be meeting for the 14th time on Friday. The Bears lead the series 9-2-2. Baylor has owned the series with a 9-0-1 record in the last 10 meetings dating back to 1998. Since joining the Big 12, Baylor is 3-0-1 in the series, however TCU and Baylor played to a 1-1 tie in Waco a year ago. Baylor is 4-1-1 all-time against TCU in Fort Worth. TCU’s last win in the series came on Nov. 4, 1988 when it topped Baylor 2-0 in Fort Worth.
