KANSAS CITY - The TCU women's soccer team will open play in the 2013 Big 12 Soccer Championships Wednesday night at 8 p.m. against the two-seed, Texas Tech. The tournament is being held at Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City.
Bobbi Clemmer became the 10th Horned Frog all-time to earn first-team all-conference recognition. Michelle Prokof was named second-team all-conference in addition to earning a spot on the Big 12 All-Newcomer squad. Prokof has netted eight goals in her debut campaign, a mark that ranks fifth in the Big 12.
Lauren Sajewich continues to be a staple on the field. She is the only Horned Frog to have played every minute of every match this season. Along with Sajewich, Meghan Murphy and Kelly Johnson are the only Frogs to have played in all 18 matches. Makenzie Koch has had a hand in 11 (4 goals, 7 assists) of TCU's 18 goals scored this season.
Despite dropping a hard-fought 1-0 loss to Baylor on Friday, Shannon Coffer has performed well in goal for the Horned Frogs. She is 3-1-1 this season with a 0.87 GAA and an .872 save percentage.
