TCU Earns NCAA Bid; Faces Arizona Friday

FORT WORTH -- The TCU women's soccer was selected to the NCAA Tournament's field of 64, it was announced on Monday. TCU will hit the road Pac 12-member, Arizona, Friday night.

The Horned Frogs are coming off yet another run through the Big 12 Championships, falling in overtime, 2-1, to Baylor in the Big 12 Championship game. Along the way, the Frogs advanced on penalty kicks over Kansas and No. 7 West Virginia. TCU posted a school-record 6-2-1 mark and finished third in the Big 12 en route to a 12-6-3 overall record this season.

TCU is making its second straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament after making history in 2016 with its first-ever bid to the 64-team field. The Frogs are one of 34 programs to make back-to-back appearances in the tournament.

The winner of Friday’s match will advance to the second round at a site to be determined and will face either Ole Miss or Florida State. The second round is slated to begin Friday, Nov. 17.

The Big 12 earned five bids to the tournament. West Virginia was tabbed a No. 2 Seed, while Baylor, Oklahoma State and Texas were also selected to the field.
