FALL 2005 (SENIOR [TCU]): Was ranked No. 21 nationally in the preseason singles rankings...Finished with a 7-4 record and was 7-1 in doubles playing exclusively with Anna Sydorska...The duo picked up the No. 1 ranking in the ITA Southwest Region in December...Besovic was chosen as the No. 3 singles player in the region as well...Beat a couple of top 25 opponents in No. 24 Elena Gantcheva of UNLV and No. 15 Kim Coventry of Kentucky...Recorded four victories in a row in the Wilson/ITA Southwest Regional Championships to make a semifinal appearance...Received an at-large bid to the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships...Won the ITA regional doubles title with Sydorska...It gave the duo an automatic bid to the indoors...By defeating the No. 47-ranked duo of Eva Dickes and Bianca Dulgheru of Pepperdine, Besovic and Sydorska became the first TCU doubles tandem in school history to win a main draw match at the indoors.

2004-05 (JUNIOR [TCU]): Posted a remarkable 36-10 singles record in her first season with TCU...Her 36 wins tied for the second most in one season in school history...Played exclusively at No. 2 singles in dual matches, posting a 20-5 slate there...Had a 16-5 record in tournament play...Entered the spring season ranked No. 25 nationally, which turned out to be her season-high...Ended the year with a No. 38 rating...Notched a 12-6 record in matches against ranked opponents...Named to the Conference USA First Team...Was the ITA Southwest Region Player to Watch...Received the nod for C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll accolades for achieving at least a 3.0 grade point average...Went 18-15 in doubles playing with Karla Mancinas, Andrea Morgado, Kewa Nichols and Story Tweedie-Yates...Had two six-match winning streaks in singles during the fall...She turned heads with a 6-2, 6-3 triumph over No. 20-rated Petra Dizdar of Texas at the Baylor Invitational in September...Was one match away from qualifying for the main draw at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships in October...Won the Wilson/ITA Southwest Regional Championships with a 5-7, 6-3, 6-3 victory over Kendra Strohm from Texas...It gave her an automatic bid to the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships...Was victorious in eight consecutive matches at one point during the spring...The highest ranked player she defeated was Daniela Bercek from UCLA in straight sets, 7-6(2), 6-4, in the first round of the NCAA Singles Championship...Bercek was No. 11 in the country at the time...She combined with Tweedie-Yates to become just the sixth and seventh players in school history to compete in the NCAA singles tourney...Had a 3-0 record in TCU's three matches with rival Tulane...Her last two were against Jenny Kuehn, who was ranked in the top 60 both times...Besovic lost the first set in both matches before coming back to win...Scored a key win over Romy Farah from Clemson on Feb. 13, downing her 7-6(3), 4-6, 6-0 to help the Frogs get their first victory in school history over a top 10 team...The Tigers were rated seventh at the time and Farah was 88th.

2002-04 (FRESHMAN/SOPHOMORE [OUACHITA BAPTIST]): Was an NCAA Division II All-American for Ouachita Baptist...Claimed runner-up honors in doubles and finished third in singles at the 2003 ITA Small College Championship...ITA South Region Rookie of the Year in 2003...Earned Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Year the same season...Finished the 2003-04 season with a 27-4 doubles record and a 25-3 mark in singles...Helped lead her team to back-to-back GSC titles.

HIGH SCHOOL/JUNIOR: Her career-high world ranking in singles was No. 802 coming in June 2000...Was rated as high as 747th in doubles in May 2002...Won a couple matches in an International Tennis Federation event in Spain in May 2000 to make the quarterfinals...She defeated the tournament's top seed, Anna Floris, in the second round...Teamed with Noria Roig to win an ITF event in September 2001 in Spain.

PERSONAL: Is majoring in advertising/public relations and minoring in Spanish at TCU...Attended Ausias March High School in Barcelona, Spain...The daughter of Zaim and Milica Besovic, Helena Besovic was born Aug. 28, 1984.
