The TCU women’s tennis team will start the 2017 spring season with three national rankings.
TCU will send six players to compete in the ITA All-American Championships this weekend.
TCU won three titles across three tournaments in the second weekend of fall action.
The team will head to the Little Rock Invitational and Rice Invitational this weekend.
The team picked up multiple victories between two tournaments this past weekend.
2017 Academic All-Big 12 Second Team
2016-17 (REDSHIRT SENIOR SEASON): Earned Academic All-Big 12 Second Team honors ... posted an overall record of 33-25 with 16 wins in singles action and 17 in doubles ... spent all of the fall season ranked No. 18 in the Oracle/ITA doubles poll with Seda Arantekin ... posted 12 wins with Arantekin throughout the fall and spring with one win over a ranked opponent ... longest doubles winning streak came during the fall paired up with Arantekin as the duo winning four straight matches at the Little Rock Invitational ... 10 of the victories in doubles came during dual match play as Wegner played at all three positions ... went 2-3 at the No. 1 spot, 7-4 at No. 2 and 1-0 at the No. 3 position ... scored two doubles wins during Big 12 play ... also paired up with Donika Bashota during the spring in doubles as the duo posted four wins ... the 16 wins in singles action was the third most on the team for the season ... scored 10 wins during dual match play ... played solely at the No. 5 and No. 6 positions during singles action ... went 4-4 at No. 5 and 6-2 at No. 6 ... posted four wins during the Big 12 season ... won five of her last six singles matches of the season ... posted a straight-set win over Rice in the first round of the NCAA Championship to help the team move into the second round for the third straight season ... also defeated opponent from Texas in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 Championship ... her straight-set win over Katelyn Jackson of Texas Tech helped TCU upset the No. 7 ranked Red Raiders as the team upset a top-10 opponent for the third straight season ... helped TCU earn the overall match victory with a singles win on seven occasions ... won her singles bracket at the Little Rock Invitational.
2015-16 (REDSHIRT JUNIOR SEASON): Named to the All-Big 12 Doubles First Team after posting 24 wins in doubles action and going 44-24 overall during her first season in Fort Worth ... also scored a 20-12 record in singles action ... ranked every week during the spring season with Seda Arantekin in doubles with the duo reaching a career-high ranking of No. 16 in February and March ... defeated three ranked opponents in doubles with the biggest win coming over the No. 11 pair of Breaunna Addison and Danielle Wagland of Texas ... posted six wins in conference action all at the No. 1 spot in doubles ... advanced to the USTA/ITA National Indoor Championships for the first time in her career with Arantekin where they posted two wins ... made it to the fall indoor championships after making it to the semifinals of the USTA/ITA Texas Regional Championship with three straight victories ... longest double winning streak was six matches during the spring season with Arantekin ... posted a victory in nine matches to help TCU to the doubles point ... posted 20 singles wins including 13 during dual match play ... went 4-2 in Big 12 singles action ... played at positions No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 ... went undefeated at No. 4 with a 3-0 mark while posting an 8-1 record at No. 3 and 2-3 at No. 2 ... all 13 victories in the spring contributed to TCU team wins ... had a seven match winning streak in singles action ... defeated two ranked opponents in singles action during the fall ... won the consolation bracket at the Duke Bonk Invite with wins over opponents from NC State and Virginia ... The four wins in Big 12 play came over opponents from Kansas, Kansas State, West Virginia and Iowa State ... defeated Julia Schiller of Wichita State in the first round of the NCAA Championship to help lead TCU to its 700th victory in program history and move into the second round for the second straight season.
2014-15 (JUNIOR SEASON): Sat out due to NCAA Transfer rules.
High School/Amateur: The 64th-ranked woman in Germany after playing at Fichte-Gymnasium during her prep days ... captured the ITF Luzern (Switzerland) Under-18 Girls singles title in 2008 ... was the winner of the Rewe Cup in the under-21 division and reached the final in the Head German Master Series in 2011 ... reached as high as No. 3 in Germany in the junior rankings, advancing to the German Junior Championships twice.
