TCU women's tennis head coach Jefferson Hammond announced the addition of former TCU men's tennis standout Alex Menichini as volunteer assistant coach on August 7, 2007. Menichini starred for the Horned Frogs from 2002-2004.

"Alex will be a great asset to our team this season," said Hammond. "He's a Horned Frog through and through and has had a very decorated career. We're very lucky to have him."

Menichini played the top spot for the Frogs during the 2004 season where TCU finished ranked No. 18 in the nation. The Calabasas, Calif., native finished his senior season ranked No. 48 in singles play, and reached as high as No. 22 in the singles poll. Menichini and partner Jacob Martin went 18-5 during the 2004 season and were named the Doubles Team of the C-USA Championships. A First Team All-C-USA selection in 2003 and 2004, Menichini earned the C-USA Sportsmanship Award and was named to the C-USA All-Decade Team.

Menichini has achieved a career high ITF singles ranking of No. 1227 and a doubles ranking of No. 1601. Menichini plans to graduate from TCU in 2008 with a degree in economics.
