Women's Tennis Loses Tough 4-3 Battle at A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The 30th-ranked TCU women's tennis team (4-2, 2-0 C-USA) dropped its second match of the season in a heartbreaker at the Texas A&M Tennis Center on Tuesday evening. The Aggies outlasted the Frogs, 4-3, to move to 8-3 on the season. Ashley Hedberg's 1-6, 6-0, 6-2 three-set win over sophomore Karla Mancinas at the fourth position clinched the match for A&M.
TCU picked up three wins in singles action. The first was from freshman Iris Jaklin at no. 6 against Seva Iwinski in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3. Perez earned a 6-4, 6-0 victory over Roberta Spencer at the third spot. Junior Saber Pierce defeated Walker in straight sets, as well, at no. 2 (7-5, 6-3).
The Frogs are home on Friday to host Conference USA foe Tulane at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center beginning at 2:00 p.m. Next week, the women's team is in California for matches against Pepperdine, San Diego State and the University of San Diego.
