TULSA, Okla. - The TCU women's tennis doubles duo of Macall Harkins and Anna Sydorska earned an opening-round victory over the 27th-ranked Georgia Tech tandem of Whitney McCray and Kristi Miller at the 2008 Division I Women's Tennis Championships on Thursday in Tulsa, Okla. The Frog duo will advance to compete in the round of 16 on Friday at 3:30 p.m.

"This was a nice win against a veteran team," said TCU head coach Jefferson Hammond.

Harkins and Sydorska, ranked No. 18 nationally, improved to 21-10 overall this season by defeating the Yellow Jacket tandem by a score of 6-1, 7-6(3). The Frogs will face the third-seeded duo of Brook Buck and Kelcy Tefft of Notre Dame in the round of 16 on Friday. Harkins and Sydorska met the Notre Dame pair last fall in the semifinals of the ITA Intercollegiate Indoor Championships, dropping a 6-4, 6-3 contest.
