TULSA, Okla. - The TCU women's tennis doubles team of Macall Harkins and Anna Sydorska fell just short in the round of 16 on Friday at the 2008 Division I Women's Tennis Championships at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Okla. Harkins and Sydorska ended the season with an overall mark of 21-11.

"We played our hearts out today and lost a very closely contested battle," said TCU head coach Jefferson Hammond. "Notre Dame played very well and is an excellent combo. Anna and Macall have one more year together and I think they will win one of the big three events. It's time to set new goals and get back to work."

The TCU tandem, ranked No. 18 nationally, fell by a score of 0-6, 7-5, 6-3 to the third-seeded duo of Brook Buck and Kelcy Tefft of Notre Dame. The Frog duo won their opening round contest on Thursday against the 27th-ranked duo from Georgia Tech.

Harkins and Sydorska defeated seven ranked opponents overall in the 2007-08 season, and reached as high as No. 11 in the national rankings this spring. The Frog pair also garnered All-MWC doubles honors.
