Munch-Soegaard rolls into championship

MIDLAND, Texas - Nina Munch-Soegaard, a sophomore on the TCU women's tennis team, won two matches on Saturday at The Racquet Club Collegiate Invitational to advance to the championship round.
Munch-Soegaard, the tournament's No. 3 seed, won the quarterfinal match against Bianca Eichkorn of Miami, 6-3, 5-7, 7-5. In the semifinals, Munch-Soegaard downed Pichittra Thongdack of Boise State by a score of 6-1, 3-6, 6-3. The Amarillo, Texas, native has won four matches in the tournament.
Kewa Nichols also competed on Saturday, falling to No. 2 Sylvia Kosakowski of Pepperdine, 6-2, 6-7, 6-3. Nichols won two matches on Friday to advance to the quarterfinals.
Munch-Soegaard will face the tournament's No. 2 seed, Kosakowski, in the championship match on Sunday.
