Quotes from the Weekend
Head Coach Lee Taylor Walker
“We had a lot of good improvements during the tournament. Aleksandra (Zenovka) and Meredith (Roberts) were obviously our highlights. Aleksandra met some personal goals and is playing at a very high standard right now. I'm really proud of the way she competed and the sportsmanship and character she displayed throughout the tournament. Meredith showed that her athleticism, game style and competitiveness can play with anyone in the country. She certainly showed her coaches and teammates what she is capable of and has set a new standard for herself that we all will hold her accountable to. Alexis (Pereira) had a good tournament as well and really improved in the areas she wanted to focus on from last week’s tournament. Donika (Bashota) had hopes of making a deeper run but Jessica Hinojosa of Baylor played well and we learned a lot that match for future use. Overall, I am grateful to the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center staff for running a great tournament and for the overall success of the team. Looking forward to recovering, training some more and getting ready for the Haunted Horned Frog Classic.”
