COLUMBUS, Ohio - TCU senior Ana Cetnik and sophomore Anna Sydorska stunned the No. 1 team in the nation Thursday afternoon in the first doubles round of the 2006 ITA National Indoor Collegiate Championships on the campus of The Ohio State University. The pair, ranked No. 24 in the nation and the winners of the Southwest ITA Regional doubles title, upset the top-seeded team of Catrina Thompson and Christian Thompson from Notre Dame, 8-3.

"This was a good start to the event," TCU first year interim head coach Jefferson Hammond said. "We played very aggressively and had good focus despite starting the match down 2-0. We proceeded to win the next 8-of-9 games for the victory."

The Thompson twins were ranked No. 3 in the country; they were the highest duo Cetnik and Sydorska defeated this season. In fact, the Horned Frog pair is 9-1 in the fall and they have two tournament crowns to their credit (Baylor Fall Invitational and Southwest Regional).

Cetnik and Sydorska will face fellow Mountain West Conference opponents, Jenny Miccoli and Anastasia Sourkova in the second round.
