Women's Tennis Snags No. 30 Ranking

FORT WORTH, Texas – The TCU women’s tennis squad will begin the 2014 season ranked No. 30 in the nation as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association in its first rankings of the year.
The Horned Frogs are one of five Big 12 teams that are ranked in the top 30, while junior Stefanie Tan earned a No. 30 ranking in the singles poll.
Tan, who is ranked No. 3 in the Texas Regional rankings, finished her fall campaign with a 14-4 record and an appearance in the semi-finals of the USTA/ITA Texas Regional singles draw. Tan completed her fall season on a five-match winning streak en route to the singles title at the Jack Kramer Invitational.
Along with Tan, Simona Parajova is ranked in the top 5 in the regional rankings, while the duo are also tabbed No 8 in the regional doubles rankings. Parajova posted a singles record of 5-3, while the Slovkia native and Tan teamed up to go 5-3 in doubles action.
Seda Arantekin and Millie Nichols round out the TCU players earning regional rankings as the duo are ranked No. 10. The tandem finished the fall season by also taking the title at the Jack Kramer Invitational.
TCU returned seven letterwinners from a season ago and will kick off the 2014 spring campaign on Saturday, Jan. 18 with matches against Syracuse and UT-Arlington at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., respectively.
