FORT WORTH, Texas - The No. 30 TCU women's tennis team will head to Los Angeles, Calif., to compete in a four-team tournament to open the 2014 ITA National Kick-Off on the campus of UCLA from Jan. 24-25.

The Horned Frogs will open the tournament by taking on No. 38 UC Irvine on Friday at noon, CST. No. 5 UCLA and No. 61 San Diego will also be on hand, with the winner of both matches facing off at 3 p.m., CST on Saturday for a chance to advance to the ITA National Indoor Championship at Boar's Head Sports Club in Charlottesville, Va., on Feb. 7-10. In all, 120 teams will compete across the country for the 30 berths at the National Team Indoor Championships.

TCU is coming off a 2013 season where the team finished with an 18-7 record and earned a bid to the NCAA tournament for the second year in a row and the 15th time in program history. The team recently got off to a 2-0 start to the 2014 season after blanking Syracuse (7-0) and defeating UT Arlington (5-2) this past weekend. The Frogs won the doubles point in both matches, as No. 30 Stefanie Tan and Simona Parajova posted undefeated records in singles and paired up to go undefeated in doubles action as well.

The Anteaters return all but one player from a 2013 squad that won the Big West title with a 9-0 record, while also posting a perfect 14-0 record at home and a 20-match win streak. UC Irvine enters the match ranked No. 38 and are led by a pair of sophomores, Sarah Gong and Sarah Stadfelt, who totaled 39 wins between the two of them in 2013. Gong never lost consecutive matches for the Anteaters at the No. 4 singles position, while Stadfelt record win streaks of six and 10 throughout the season.

An experimental format will be used in the tournament, with the women playing all sets in singles and doubles to six games, with regular scoring and tiebreakers at 6-all. However, if a singles match splits sets, a match tiebreaker will be played in lieu of a third set.

Live results of the match can be found at, with a recap and final results available on after the completion of the competition each day.
