Preview: Duke

FORT WORTH, Texas - A quick spring break trip to Florida is next up on the slate for the No. 48 TCU women's tennis team as they head to Lake Nona, Fla., to take on No. 3 Duke on Tuesday, March 13.

The Horned Frogs (9-5) will take on the Blue Devils (10-1) on Tuesday at 4 p.m., CT, at the United States Tennis Association (USTA) National Campus in Lake Nona, Fla. In a unique opportunity, the women's team will be playing at the same time as the TCU men's team who will also be facing Duke at the USTA national headquarters.

TCU Notables
TCU is riding a three-match winning streak and had over a week off heading into Tuesday's match with Duke. The last time the Frogs were in action, they picked up two sweeps over Brown (7-0) and North Texas (4-0) to improve to 9-2 at home this season.

In the most recent Oracle/ITA rankings, Marie Norris leads the way at No. 89 followed by Aleksandra Zenovka at No. 95 and Aleksa Cveticanin at No. 120. Zenovka is one of three players with 16 wins on the season along with freshman Stevie Kennedy and senior Donika Bashota. Norris follows with a 14-2 mark including an 8-1 record in dual matches. In doubles, Bashota and Elizabeth Tedford remained ranked at No. 56 with five wins on the season. Kennedy and Norris have the best mark at 6-0 this year with five of the wins coming at the No. 2 position.

Scouting the Blue Devils
Duke enters Tuesday's match with only one loss on the season to North Carolina at the National Team Indoor Championship. Since the loss, the Blue Devils have picked up four wins over NC State (6-1), Dartmouth (7-0), Wake Forest (7-0) and Virginia (7-0). There are five ranked Duke singles players along with two doubles teams ranked within the top 10 in the country. Samantha Harris is ranked No. 7 in singles with 21 wins so far this year and is ranked No. 6 in doubles with Kelly Chen with 14 wins on the season and five over ranked opponents. Ellyse Hamlin and Kaitlyn McCarthy hold the team's highest ranking at No. 5 in doubles with a 17-4 mark and four wins over ranked opponents.

All-Time Series Records
Tuesday's match between TCU and Duke is the fourth meeting all-time with the Frogs holding the slight advantage in the series record at 2-1. This is the second straight season the teams will be facing each other after Duke picked up a 4-3 victory in Durham last year. The teams first faced each other in 1985 with the Frogs coming out on top 6-2 before meeting for only the second time in 2015 at the National Indoor Championship with TCU getting the 4-3 win. This will be the second match all-time between TCU and Duke that will take place on neutral grounds.
