FORT WORTH, Texas - Coming off a two-match victory and an upset over a ranked opponent on Tuesday, the TCU women's tennis team is set to open its Big 12 conference play by hosting No. 22 Texas at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center on Friday, Mar. 14.

The Horned Frogs (7-7) will square off against the two-time defending Big 12 champion Longhorns (5-8) at 2 p.m., on the Bernard J. `Tut' Bartzen Varsity Courts. Admission to the match is free with free pizza delivered courtesy of Buffalo Bros., between the doubles and singles matches.

TCU Noteables
TCU picked up two wins on Tuesday, including a 5-2 downing of No. 63 North Florida, for the team's second win this season over a ranked opponent. The Frogs handed both North Florida and Louisiana Tech their second losses of the season, as three different TCU student-athletes went undefeated in the matches.

No. 53 Stefanie Tan has only one loss of the season in dual matches at the No. 1 singles position, while fellow junior Simona Parajova is 10-0 at No.2 singles. The junior from Slovakia has only had to go to three sets twice this season and is 2-2 against ranked opponents.

Tan and Seda Arantekin lead the doubles action with an overall record of 5-1, including a 4-1 record at No. 1 doubles.

Scouting the Longhorns
Texas is coming off one of the most difficult nonconference slates in the country, where the Longhorns took on 11 of the nation's top-26 teams, including eight of the college tennis' top-13 squads.

Breaunna Addison holds Texas' highest ranking of No. 18 in the singles poll and was just the third Longhorn to ever reach the singles semifinals at the NCAA Championships a year ago. Addison, along with No. 114 Elizabeth Begley, lead the team with 8-4 singles records. Ratnika Batra is the only other player ranked at No. 89 and is 4-4 in dual matches this season.

All-Time Series Records
Texas holds the series record lead with a 22-5 record, as the teams have split the last four meetings. The Longhorns claimed a 4-3 decision last year and a 5-2 win in 2008, but TCU won a 4-3 matchup in 2010 and a 4-0 shutout in 2006. Before the Frogs' win in 2006, TCU had not beaten Texas since 1991.
