FORT WORTH, Texas  – The No. 49 TCU women’s tennis team will hit the road for its first away Big 12 conference matches this season by taking on No. 30 Oklahoma State on Friday, March 21 and No. 17 Oklahoma on Sunday, March 23.

The Horned Frogs (8-7) will face the Cowgirls (6-5) at 5 p.m., at the Greenwood Tennis Center in Stillwater tomorrow, before heading to Norman to face the Sooners (10-2) at noon on Sunday at the Headington Family Tennis Center.

TCU Noteables
TCU is on a three-match winning streak after upending No. 63 North Florida and opening Big 12 play with an upset of No. 22 Texas. The Frogs moved back into the ITA rankings and sit at No. 49 after the two victories.

Simona Parajova was instrumental in helping TCU to the two victories and was named Big 12 Player of the Week on Tuesday. Parajova is undefeated at No. 2 singles with an 11-0 record and beat her first ranked opponent in dual matches with a take down of No. 114 Elizabeth Begley of Texas.

Stefanie Tan is the lone player in the ITA singles rankings, coming in at No. 53 with a 9-2 record at No. 1 singles. Tan and doubles partner Seda Arantekin have a 5-2 record in doubles, while Parajova and Monika Sirilova have a 5-3 record.

Scouting the Opponents
Oklahoma State is coming off a 4-2 thriller over then-No. 14 Oklahoma earlier this month. The Cowgirls have knocked off a top-15 opponent in each of the last three seasons. The match was clinched when No. 83 Viktoriya Lushkova brought down No. 121 Whitney Ritchie in a three-set match on court one. Lushkova has won her last nine matches and all seven on her matches in the top singles position for Oklahoma State. Lushkova pairs up with Kanyapat Narattana in the doubles rankings and sits at No. 37, while as a team the Cowgirls have won seven of the nine total doubles points in 2014.

Oklahoma rebounded from their loss to the Cowgirls by going into Tulsa and ending the Golden Hurricanes’ 51-match home win streak with a 4-3 win. The Sooners have an 8-2 record against ranked opponents in non-conference action and are a perfect 4-0 at home. Ritchie holds down the team’s only single ranking at No. 121 and leads the team with an 11-1 record, including 8-0 at No. 2 singles. Ritchie teams up with Mia Lancaster in doubles, as the duo are ranked No. 76 and hold a 7-3 record.

All-Time Series
TCU holds the advantage in both series with Oklahoma State and Oklahoma. Despite losing to the Sooners last spring, the Frogs are ahead 19-13 overall in the meetings. TCU and the Cowgirls split the meetings last spring, with the Frogs winning the first matchup 5-2 and Oklahoma State beating TCU 4-3 in the Big 12 Championships. TCU holds a 10-6 advantage over the Cowgirls.
