FORT WORTH, Texas -- The TCU Athletics Department has selected Jason Coats and Gaby Mastromarino as its Athletes of the Week for their recent efforts for the Horned Frogs.

Coats ranked second on the team with seven base hits last week, six of which went for extra bases. The sophomore posted a slugging percentage of 1.105 (21 total bases), while sporting an on-base percentage of .400. The Plano, Texas product became the first TCU player since Austin Adams in 2005 to hit three home runs in a game at TCU, smashing three long balls against Houston on April 11 to help the Frogs tally its third sweep of the season and its first on the road.

Mastromarino went 5-0 during the Frogs' road trip to UC Irvine and Las Vegas. The sophomore started the week with a non-conference singles win over the Anteaters' Miranda Young (6-1, 6-0) before taking two more victories against San Diego State and No. 35 UNLV. The sophomore from Tequesta, Fla., is now riding a five-match winning streak. Mastromarino also enjoyed a pair of doubles wins alongside partner Idunn Hertzberg, pushing the duo's winning streak to six straight matches.
