FORT WORTH - Charles Silmon of track and field and Monika Sirilova of women's tennis were named TCU Athletes of the Week for their performances last week.

Silmon won the 100-meter dash and helped the 4x100 relay team place first at the Texas Invitational over the weekend.  He posted his best legal mark of the season in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.23 seconds.

Sirilova continued her undefeated run in the Big 12 over the weekend.  In singles play, she defeated Oklahoma State's Kanyapat Narattana in two sets on Friday and Oklahoma's Abbi Melrose in two sets on Sunday.  The junior is now 7-0 in the Big 12 and has won 11 straight in singles.  Sirilova and partner Gabi Barbosa secured the doubles' point Sunday against Oklahoma's Emma Devine and Mia Lancaster, the No. 82 doubles pair in the country.

Silmon and the track team will compete in the Michael Johnson Classic in Waco on Saturday.  The women's tennis team will take the court Friday at 2 p.m. central against Texas Tech.
