Duo Earns NCAA Bid

FORT WORTH, Texas – The TCU pair of Olaya Garrido-Rivas and Donika Bashota earned an at-large bid to the 2017 NCAA Division I Women’s Doubles Championship that will be held from May 24-29 at the Dan Magill Tennis Center in Athens, Ga.

The duo became the 12th pair selected for the doubles championship in program history and are currently ranked No. 17 in the Oracle/ITA poll. The pair have gone 9-3 this season and won their last six straight matches. They went 6-1 at the No. 1 position during dual-match action and are 4-0 against ranked opponents.

Senior Seda Arantekin, who is currently ranked No. 57 in the Oracle/ITA singles poll, was named the third alternate for the singles bracket.

All three competitors will open postseason by taking part in the team competition, as TCU will travel to Stanford for the Palo Alto Regional to face Rice in the opening round on Saturday, May 13 at 10 a.m., PT.
