May 24, 2017

FORT WORTH, Texas – The TCU women’s tennis duo of Donika Bashota and Olaya Garrido-Rivas will begin individual postseason action by participating in the 2017 NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis Doubles Championship that kick-off on Thursday, May 25 at the Dan Magill Tennis Center in Athens, Ga.

The No. 19 ranked pair from TCU will face the No. 14 pair of Alizee Michaud and Taylor Russo of Auburn in the opening round. This will mark the second time this year the pairs have faced off with the Horned Frog duo coming away with a 6-3 victory during the fall.

Bashota and Garrido-Rivas earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Doubles Championship after posting a 10-4 record this season with five wins over ranked opponents. The pair went 7-2 during dual matches playing solely at the top position. Starting in January, the TCU duo won seven straight matches before dropping its most recent match in the second round of the NCAA Championship.

Match times for Thursday will be released later today.
