FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU women's tennis head coach Jefferson Hammond has been named the Chairman of the ITA Southwest Regional Committee. Hammond will begin his second year as a member of the committee.

The five-member committee is responsible for handling regional matters on the national level and oversees all Division I programs in the states of Texas and Louisiana. The most recent chairperson of the committee was Texas State women's tennis head coach Tory Plunkett. Plunkett earned Doubles All-America honors as a player at TCU in 1988.

Hammond was named the Mountain West Conference Coach of the Year this season after leading the Horned Frogs to a perfect 8-0 record to claim the MWC regular season title. Hammond has compiled a record of 37-17 in two years as head coach of the Frogs, and has led TCU to NCAA appearances in both seasons.
