Preview: ITA Fall Nationals

Oct. 31, 2017

FORT WORTH, Texas – TCU women’s tennis senior Aleksandra Zenovka is set to begin action in singles at the inaugural 2017 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships that will take place from Nov. 1-5 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Indian Wells, Calif.

Zenovka was one of 23 at-large selections for the final event of the collegiate tennis fall season and will take on No. 1 ranked Ena Shibahara of UCLA in the opening round at 10:45 a.m., PT, on Wednesday. The event, which serves as the conclusion of the fall collegiate tennis season, will include 128 of the nation’s top collegiate singles players (64 men and 64 women) and 64 doubles teams (32 men’s teams and 32 women’s teams). The event replaces the ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships.

Zenovka, who is ranked No. 122 in the Oracle/ITA rankings, is leading the team with an 8-3 mark in singles action as she recently made a run to the semifinals of the ITA Texas Regional Championships presented by Oracle. The No. 122 ranked singles player has defeated two ranked opponents in the three tournaments played this fall. Last season, Zenovka scored 10 wins in singles and brought down one ranked opponent while playing at the No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 positions. The senior also picked up nine wins in doubles action.
