Quotes of the Match
TCU Director of Volleyball Jill Kramer
Overall thoughts on the first match
"I thought it was a great start. We gave them some very basic things that we wanted them to focus on. We wanted them to be really sharp during warm-up because we think that it really gets them going for the match. I thought they did a great job with that. I thought they did a great job of executing our game plan and they did a great job of making changes throughout the match. I think it was a great start."

On Ashley Smith and her defensive efforts in the game
"I thought she played really well. A lot of defense is about effort, so she did a great job of reading around our block. A lot of that has to do with the fact that I think our block set up really well. She could read around the block really well and Ashley always gives her best effort. It makes her a good defensive player in that aspect already."

On what to expect against Texas State later tonight
"They have got quite a few returners, but they also have a lot of newcomers who are transfers so they have experience under their belt. Coach Chisim's teams always play really hard and I think it will be a great match. The girls are going to rest up inbetween and then come back play hard tonight."

-The team's .419 hitting percentage is just outside the program's top-10 in the team match record book. TCU was able to strike down 43 kills and limited their errors to only seven in the match.
-Pickens notches double-digit kills for the first time this season with 12 against ACU
-Ashley Smith notches double-digit digs for the first time this season with 12, to go along with three block assists and seven kills
-Six TCU players hit above .300 in the match, with Sarita Mikals leading the way with a season- and career-high .750 against the Wildcats
-TCU also limited its errors behind the service line and led the match with a total of six service aces and only two errors
