EDINBURG, Texas - The TCU Horned Frogs continued to roll as they swept their fifth opponent of the season, topping UT-Pan American (25-12, 25-15, 25-21) to remain undefeated. The Frogs were led by Irene Hester, who tallied a match-high 16 kills and was named the tournament MVP. Kourtney Edwards finished with nine kills and five blocks.

It was all TCU in game one as they dominated in all facets of the game. The Frogs built a comfortable 10-2 lead behind strong play from the front court. Irene Hester picked up where she left off in the first match with a loud kill down the middle. After Kourtney Edwards gave the Frogs a lead they would never relinquish, she teamed with Nirelle Hampton to stuff a Bronc attack on the outside. Sarah Joeckel capped a 6-0 run with an ace forcing the Broncs to call a timeout trailing 6-1.Devon Kirk came in and made an immediate impact with a kill and a block to spur another Frog 4-0 run.

UT-Pan American made a mini run to get back to within four, 10-6, but back-to-back kills from Hester got the Frogs rolling again. Leading 16-9, Edwards took over the middle with a kill and two blocks to give the Frogs a 20-9 lead. Christy Hudson helped the Frogs keep their double-digit lead. An attack error by the Broncs gave TCU set point and Kirk finished the game with a kill off the overpass for a 25-12 win.

The Frogs carried the momentum from game one into the second set, building a comfortable lead and riding it to the conclusion. Kirk opened the scoring with a kill and Hernandez capped the 4-0 run with an ace. Hampton pitched in with a dig and two straight kills from Hester gave the Frogs a 10-3 lead.

The Broncs put together a 3-0 run to pull within five, 13-8, but Kirk had an answer with a blast from the middle. Hudson and Edwards pushed the lead to 16-9 with back-to-back kills and two straight kills from Hester gave TCU a commanding 18-10 lead.

Following a 3-0 run by the Broncs, the Frogs closed out the set on a 7-2 run to take control of the match. Kirk was huge in that stretch with a kill and a block. Back-to-back aces from Hester sealed the Frogs 25-15 victory.

Out of the intermission, the Lady Broncs were on fire as they took the early lead. Trailing 8-5, the Frogs went on a 8-0 run to erase the deficit and take a 13-8 lead. Hester started the run and Hudson kept the rally going with two kills and a block. Kirk was also instrumental with a block and a kill.

After the Frogs run, the Broncs went on one of their own to regain the lead, 15-14. A back-and-forth battle ensued before a service error by Ytszel Trinidad gave the Frogs an 18-17 lead. Edwards caught fire with two blocks and two kills to give the Frogs a commanding 23-17 lead. A Hester blast gave the Frogs match point and she finished it off to lock up the 25-21 game three victory.

TCU improves to 6-0 on the season. They will put its undefeated mark to the test Wednesday night when the Frogs travel across town for a match-up against UT-Arlington. Game time at Texas Hall is set for 7 p.m.
