ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The TCU volleyball team's run in the MW Postseason Tournament came to a halt as they ran into a hot UNLV squad. The seventh-seeded Rebels handed the Frogs a 3-1 (25-22, 14-25, 23-25, 19-25) loss. Sarah Joeckel set the single-season school record for digs in the loss.

Joeckel led the team with 18 digs, while Meghan Horio and Jordan Raines each tallied 12. Raines completed her 14th double-double of the season with 10 kills. Yvonne Igodan powered down 15 kills to pace the team and added four blocks. Kristen Hester served up the only two aces for TCU and tallied nine kills. Stephanie Holland and Sloane Sunstrum contributed seven kills each.

The Frogs jumped out to an early 1-0 match lead with a solid first set. A kill by Sunstrum knotted things at seven and the Frogs took off from there. Raines blasted a kill around three Rebel attacking errors to open up a 12-8 advantage. Another kill by Sunstrum and a block by Igodan and Raines pushed the lead to six, 15-9.

UNLV battled to get back in the set, pulling within two, 16-14, but Igodan and Holland knocked down back-to-back kills, then teamed on a block to push the lead back to five, 19-14. The Rebels tied the set at 22, but the Frogs recovered to win 25-22 on back-to-back kills from Igodan.

Things unraveled for the Frogs in the second set as the Rebels raced out to a 12-2 lead and never looked back en route to the 25-14 victory that evened the match at one. TCU fought back to within five on a kill by Holland, but 7-2 run put the set out of reach.

Out of the intermission, the Frogs and the Rebels battled through eight ties, but it was UNLV that escaped with the 25-23 victory for the 2-1 match lead. A miscue by the Frogs on the first point gave the Rebels a 1-0 lead and they would never trail.

The Frogs battled back to tie the set at 22 on a kill from Igodan. A ball handling error by the Rebels knotted the set at 23, but Candice Thomas and Madeline Westman rallied the Rebels with kills to close out the set.

UNLV seized control early in the fourth and never looked back as it closed out the four-set victory with a 25-19 win. The Rebels opened up a 6-1 lead and never let the Frogs string together long rallies.

TCU tried to climb back in the set trailing, 21-12, as it put together a 4-0 run to close the gap to five, 21-16. Holland, Igodan and Sunstrum were key to the run, but a Rebel kill squashed the Frog momentum and Thomas ended the match with her 20th kill of the night.

The loss drops the Frogs to 23-7 on the season. TCU will head to San Diego for a pair of matches to close out the regular season. The Frogs will square off against Pittsburgh on Friday in the Aztec Turkey Time Invite. First serve is set for 6:30 p.m. (CST).
