NORMAN, Okla. - TCU's women's volleyball team dropped a four-set decision (21-25, 25-16, 25-16, 25-17) at Oklahoma on Wednesday evening inside the Sooners' McCasland Field House.

The Horned Frogs fell to 14-14 on the year and 3-12 in the Big 12. Oklahoma upped its record to 20-10 and 9-6.

The opening set was all TCU as the Frogs won the match's first two points and never looked back. TCU led by as many as 10 on four occasions and was able to hold off a late Sooner rally for a 25-21 set one win.

Yvonne Igodan and Stephanie Holland tallied four kills apiece in the frame, while Emily Kirby assisted on three blocks. Sloane Sunstrum did the defensive work for TCU, grabbing seven of the Frogs' 18 digs in the set.

Just as the first set saw TCU leading wire-to-wire, the host Sooners returned the favor in the second set. The Frogs found themselves in a 12-3 hole after 15 points. TCU closed the gap to five six times, but could never get any closer as it fell 25-16 in set two to knot the match at 1.

Freshman Blaire Pickens had the strongest set of her young TCU career, tallying five kills on nine attacks (.556), while Sunstrum chipped in three of her own. Alexia Heist had four assists and five digs, but TCU was unable to overcome a 4.0-0.0 OU edge in blocks.

OU again took an early lead in set three, winning the first four points. TCU battled within two once and within three on multiple occasions, but could not get over the hump as a 6-2 run gave OU its biggest lead at 19-12 and took a 2-1 lead with a 25-16 set three win.

The fourth set was the most competitive of the night, featuring six ties and five lead changes. After OU took an early lead, TCU grabbed the lead with a 5-1 run. The Sooners responded and held a 14-10 lead when the Frogs rattled off seven of the next nine points for a 17-16 lead.

It appeared the Frogs were in position to force a final set, but the host squad claimed the next nine points for a 25-17 set four win and 3-1 win in the match. Holland had four kills in the set, while Pickens and Sunstrum tallied three apiece.

Statistically overall, Pickens posted a career-high 10 kills and posted a .409 attack percentage. Holland had 11 kills, while Sunstrum racked up nine and 12 digs. Heist had her second-career double-double with 16 assists and 10 digs.

TCU closes the regular season Saturday when West Virginia visits the University Rec Center. First serve is set for 1 p.m. TCU will honor its four seniors following the match.
