Feb. 19, 2010
FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU senior middle blocker Kourtney Edwards will head to the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. on Friday to take part in a three-day tryout for the National Team.
"This is an opportunity of a lifetime," said Edwards. "I experienced this last year, but now I feel like I am more prepared to go out there and do well. This past season at TCU gave me a lot of experience that will help me a lot. I am nervous and excited all at the same time. It'll be awesome to play with and against some of the top players in the country."
While in Colorado Springs, Edwards will take part in four tryouts of the course of the three days. One tryout will be held on Friday, two on Saturday and wraps up with one on Sunday.
"Being part of the USA team in anything is exciting," said head coach Prentice Lewis. "We are pleased to send such a decorated TCU athlete to the tryouts. We wish her luck!"
