TCU Volleyball Announces Spring Slate

FORT WORTH, Texas – Three away tournaments, a match at SMU and the annual Queen of the Sand tournament highlight the 2014 spring season for the TCU volleyball team, as announced by head coach Prentice Lewis on Thursday.

The Horned Frogs will kick off the spring on Saturday, March 29 with a tournament hosted by Rice in Houston, Texas. TCU will faceoff against the host Owls, as well as Texas A&M, Sam Houston State and Stephen F. Austin.

The team will take the first weekend in April off, before traveling to UT Arlington to play at the College Park Center on Saturday, April 12 against seven different opponents. TCU is set to play Big 12 foe Texas Tech, as well as SMU, UT Arlington, Midwestern State, North Texas, DBU and Navarro Junior College.

The Frogs will head to SMU for a midweek matchup on Thursday, April 17 at 5 p.m., before playing in a tournament in Dallas on Saturday, April 19.

The conclusion of the spring slate for TCU will be the annual Queen of the Sand tournament on Saturday, April 26. Competition will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and will feature the inaugural 2015 TCU sand volleyball team.

TCU is coming off a 2013 campaign, where the team posted a 16-15 record overall and a 4-12 record in the Big 12.This was the ninth Horned Frog volleyball team in the 12 years with Lewis at the helm to post a winning record.
