TCU’s Recruiting Class Honored Again

May 26, 2017

FORT WORTH, Texas – The 2017 TCU volleyball recruiting class pulled in a No. 24 ranking according to the Top 30 Collegiate Recruiting Classes that was released this week by PrepVolleyball.com. This marks the second straight season that TCU’s incoming recruiting class is ranked.

After receiving their first-ever top-30 ranking last year, the Horned Frogs are one of three Big 12 Conference schools in the rankings behind Texas (No. 1) and Iowa State (No. 17). Two Texas natives, two from California and one lone signee from Nebraska make up the 2017 class for TCU.

“Our 2017 class is built with very talented volleyball players in each position, respectively,” Director of Volleyball Jill Kramer said. “Each of them will compliment our roster very well. Our ability to continue to recruit student-athletes of such a high caliber can be attributed to many things, but a couple of the biggest factors are our vibrant TCU community and strong fan support, so thank you to our Frog Family. This ranking belongs to all of you.”

Season tickets for the TCU volleyball season will go on sale Thursday, June 1. Adult season tickets are $75, youth season tickets are $50 and a Family 4-pack of season tickets can be purchased for $240. Single game tickets can be bought starting Tuesday, August 1, with fans able to purchase adult tickets for $10, youth tickets for $5 and $3 tickets for groups of 20 or more. All tickets to the home match against Baylor (Sept. 23) will be $10 and no group tickets will be available for the match against Texas (Oct. 7).

Fans can purchase season tickets by visiting GoFrogs.com, stopping by the Parrish Family Athletics Ticket Office located in Schollmaier Arena or by calling the ticket office at 817-257-FROG (3764).

According to PrepVolleyball.com
24. TCU: Berklie Baker, 5-9 libero, Trinity Christian (Euless, Texas); Allye Beth Deaton, 6-1 OH, Midway (Waco, Texas); Dani Dennison, 5-7 libero, Edison (Huntington Beach, California); Tori Dilfer, 5-10 S, Valley Christian (San Jose, California); Sarah Swanson, 6-2 MB, Elkhorn South (Elkhorn, Nebraska)

COMMENT: TCU inks its second consecutive Top 30 recruiting class since head coach Jill Kramer has been at the helm.  The 2017 class includes a setter with great leadership, an outside and a middle who have led their high school and club teams to the top and two phenomenal defensive players who can step right in and contribute. This class will undoubtedly make its mark at TCU. Deaton, nicknamed “AB,” is the highest-rated recruit, checking in at No. 89 in the PrepVolleyball.com Senior Aces. AB is a versatile six-rotation player who has seen success both on the left and right pins and will have the opportunity to contribute immediately as an all-around player. MVP of Texas High School powerhouse Waco Midway and Dallas Skyline’s 18 Royal team, AB is a competitor and finds a way to win. The other four players in the class all were Top 250 Senior Aces. Swanson, a high school and club middle, also has the ability to develop into a six-rotation player. She possesses great body control, a back-row skill set and killer jump serve.  She is expected contribute immediately either in the middle or right side, as she is very good attacking off of one foot.  However, don’t be surprised if you see her on the left side at some point in her career. With two senior setters returning, Dilfer will have an opportunity to learn the Horned Frogs’ quick tempo this summer and see how she fits into the fold.  A quick learner with exceptional leadership skills and competitive greatness, Dilfer could find herself dishing dimes to her new teammates in no time.  TCU’s 2017 class rounds out with two stellar defensive players are both expected to compete for court time immediately.  They will both bring a new energy and dynamic to TCU’s floor defense.  In addition to the 2017 freshman class, TCU enhanced its roster with two transfers in January: Lexi MacLean (outside hitter from ASU) and Mykah Wilson (libero from Long Beach State). Both return to their home state looking forward to competing in the Big 12 Conference in front of family and friends.
