Volleyball Italian Tour: Day 4 in Venice
May 29, 2014
The TCU volleyball team has arrived for their 10 day adventure in Italy! A different member of the team will share a blog about the journey daily as the team experiences the Italian culture and competes against some of the top teams in the country. One of the two seniors, Stephanie Holland, fills us in on our day exploring Venice and playing our third opponent of the trip.
Today we took a train to Venice! We split up into different groups and spent a few hours shopping and sightseeing the beautiful city. Touring Venice has always been something I have wanted to do and it didn't disappoint! Mattie, Reagan, Sutton, Lexi and I took a ride on a gondola where we learned about the history of Venice. That was by far my favorite memory of this trip so far!
After touring Venice, we played another Italian team. We played 5 competitive sets against them. This team was very scrappy and good and defensive. We had to really work for our points and be smart about our shots. After the game we went to eat and four Italian players joined us. We had so much fun talking with them and singing American songs together that they knew too! Tomorrow we are off to Pisa, Cinque Terra and Florence.
Let's go Frogs!
