Volleyball Italian Tour: Day 6 in Florence

June 1, 2014

The TCU volleyball team has arrived for their 10 day adventure in Italy! A different member of the team will share a blog about the journey daily as the team experiences the Italian culture and competes against some of the top teams in the country. Our second senior Mattie Burleson takes the honors of writing today's blog about the visit to Florence and our fourth match.

Today we traveled about an hour by train from Pisa to the beautiful town of Florence! When we got there, we split up into groups by position, and I couldn't of asked for a better group. We had the most amazing pizza for lunch in this cute little square! Next we visited the statue of David by Michelangelo! It was one of the most amazing things I have seen yet! We ended the day with a match where we were welcomed with open arms! We were also so excited to see some Horned Frog fans in the crowd. Thank you Jim and Jane Cox for coming out and supporting us! After the match we had a hug dinner with the team members and there families! After the dinner we were surprised with some fireworks in our honor! I look forward to visiting the coast on Cinque Terre tomorrow! Go Frogs!
