Volleyball Italian Tour: Day 8 in Rome and Fifth Match
June 3, 2014
The TCU volleyball team has arrived for their 10 day adventure in Italy! A different member of the team will share a blog about the journey daily as the team experiences the Italian culture and competes against some of the top teams in the country. The trip is coming to a close and Trisha Langley fills us in on the team's first day in Rome.
It is day nine of the trip and our first day in the big city of Rome! I am excited to finally be here for this is one of the cities I was looking forward to the most. There is so much to see and so much history. Today we visited the Trevi Fountain, which was awesome to get to throw our coins in and make a wish in a 300-year-old fountain. Next, we went and saw the Spanish steps, which is just another touristy spot to visit in Rome that has a lot of history behind it. Not only did we sightsee, but a bunch of the team members shopped at the emphasis vendors and got purses, wallets and sunglasses. I personally bought a new duffle bag to fit all my new souvenirs and gifts I have to bring home for friends and family. We have two whole days left in Italy and I am anxious to be back in American, but this trip has definitely been an experience of a lifetime and I will never forget it and all the wonderful memories I have made here with my teammates.
