Volleyball Italian Tour: Day 10 in Rome and Final Match
June 4, 2014
The TCU volleyball team has arrived for their 10 day adventure in Italy! A different member of the team will share a blog about the journey daily as the team experiences the Italian culture and competes against some of the top teams in the country. The final day consisted of a tour through the Vatican City and the final match against an Italian team, with junior Blaire Pickens sharing her thoughts on the day.
Today, TCU volleyball took a journey to the Vatican City. Many of us saw the Vatican museum, Sistine Chapel and then headed over to St. Peter's Basilica to catch a glimpse at the inside. As some of players are Catholic by faith, they especially enjoyed seeing various parts of the Vatican. The team ate lunch and then we had a little time off before our match where we played Volleyro for a second time. They were one of the best teams that we played on this trip and we played two competitive matches against them. We went out to dinner as a team after the game where we had to say goodbye to our awesome tour guide Alma. She was a great addition to have on our trip and she was extremely helpful throughout our entire journey through Italy. Tonight, we are packing up all of our stuff to go home in the morning! We are so excited to come back to America and see all of our family and friends again! Let's go Frogs!
