Volleyball Italian Tour: Day 11 Back in the USA

June 5, 2014

The TCU volleyball team has finished up their 10 day adventure in Italy! A different member of the team shared a blog about the journey daily as the team experienced the Italian culture and competed against some of the top teams in the country. Today was all about the travel home and junior Sutton Sunstrum blogs about the trip back to Fort Worth and all the exciting things the team experienced over the last couple of weeks.

Hey Frogs Fans!

We finally reached day 11 of our Italian tour. The team woke up early this morning in Rome anxiously awaiting our flights home. We checked out of our hotel and headed for the airport to catch our 10 hour flight to JFK in New York. It was quite a long flight as you can imagine, but we made it! It was such an awesome feeling to touch down on American soil. We had a two hour layover before boarding our second and final flight of the day. We were all so exhausted from travel but we sure did miss Fort Worth!

Our trip was incredible. We made so many new memories with each other that will last a life time. The experiences we had throughout Italy are sure to bring us closer as friends and teammates. We began our adventure in Milan, traveled to Verona and Venice, then headed to Pisa, Florence, and Cinque Terre and finished up in Rome. Together we toured many churches, played six competitive matches, saw a ton of history, ate a lot of yummy food and truly had a blast. We are so thankful to share this experience with y'all and hope you enjoyed following us through Italy!
