Kramer Closes Out Recruiting Class
June 26, 2015
FORT WORTH, Texas – TCU Director of Volleyball Jill Kramer announced her final addition to the indoor volleyball roster with the signing of Mexican national team member Ana Paty Valle Hernandez to the 2015-16 season.
Valle Hernandez, a 6-foot-4 middle blocker from Guasave, Sinaloa, Mexico, signed a national letter of intent and will join the Horned Frogs as a freshman for the upcoming indoor volleyball season.
“Paty has lived on her own for a few years in order to train at an elite level. She’s very mature and independent, a dedicated athlete, great teammate and the type of person we want as a part of our volleyball family here at TCU,” Kramer said.
“Paty’s size, strength, natural skills and elite training make her a great fit for our program. Physically, she’s a special athlete and is equipped for the highest levels of the collegiate game and ultimately a professional career. Her mass and power are her most obvious gifts, but it’s her fast-twitch explosiveness, especially on offense, that separates her from other players. Efficiency is natural for her and she has learned well as a resident student-athlete at Baja California’s High Performance Center. There are a lot of things for Paty to continue to improve upon, but her foundation is broad and stable. We are very excited she is joining her squad.”
Since August 2012, Valle Hernandez has attended Preparatoria José Vasconcelos in Tijuana and trained at the Centro de Alto Rendimiento, which is the High Performance Center of Baja California. Valle Hernandez has been a part of many national teams in her home country of Mexico, including a stint on the national team at the 2014 FIVB World Championships that were held in Italy.
Her international playing experience started in 2013 with the FIVB Under-18 World Championship in Thailand, before moving up to compete at the 2013 FIVB Under-20 World Championship and the 2013 FIVB Under-23 World Championship for Mexico. Valle Hernandez also saw action for the national team at the 2014 FIVB World Grand Prix that was held in Czech Republic and Mexico.
