TCU Scores Four Nationally Televised Matches

Aug. 5, 2016

FORT WORTH, Texas -- The TCU volleyball team had four Big 12 Conference matches chosen for national coverage on ESPNU and FSN, as announced by the league office on Friday morning.

The Horned Frogs were one of seven of the league's nine volleyball teams that are making multiple appearances on the Big 12 Conference volleyball telecast schedule this season. TCU will have one home match aired on ESPNU and three away contests on ESPNU and FSN.

"Volleyball is an exciting sport to watch, which I think more people tend to realize in an Olympic year when they have a chance to see it played at a very high level," Director of Volleyball Jill Kramer said. "I love seeing the Big 12, as well as TCU volleyball's, exposure increase from year to year. Multiple matches on ESPNU and FSN means more fans and recruits watching us compete on a national scale."

TCU's first appearance will come on Sunday, Sept. 25, as they are set to go to Iowa State to face the Cyclones at 4 p.m., on ESPNU. Just 10 days later, the Horned Frogs will then travel to Waco, Texas to face Baylor on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 6 p.m., on ESPNU.

The final two nationally televised matches will come against 2016 NCAA Runner-Up Texas. TCU will travel to Austin to face the Longhorns on FSN on Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m., before Texas will travel to Fort Worth for a showdown on Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 6 p.m., on ESPNU.

Additional television appearances by TCU through its third-tier television partnership will be announced at a later date.

TCU will kick-off the season with the Purple & White Scrimmage that will be held on Aug. 20 at 5 p.m., in the Rickel. The team will then open the season at home for the second straight year by hosting North Carolina State, Arkansas State and Boise State from Aug. 26-28.
