FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU women's volleyball team is set to open its 2013 season with the Purple & White Scrimmage on Saturday, August 17 inside the TCU University Recreation Center. Admission is free, with first serve slated for 5 p.m.

The Horned Frogs return nine letterwinners and four starters from last year's squad, while also welcoming eight newcomers. TCU is coming off a 2012 season where the team posted the eighth winning season under coach Prentice Lewis.

Yvonne Igodan highlights the returners after being named to the All-Big 12 Preseason Team for the second year in a row. Igodan, who garnered All-Big 12 Honorable Mention in 2012, finished first on the team in total kills (311), kills per set (3.24) and hitting percentage (.323) last season.

TCU will also host an Alumni Match on Saturday, Aug. 24 at 11 a.m., before opening its regular season on Friday, Aug. 30 against Furman at 3 p.m., at the Georgia Bulldog Invitational in Athens, Ga.

The Frogs will begin their second year in Big 12 on Wednesday, Sept. 25 by welcoming defending national champion Texas to the URC at 6:30 p.m.
