FORT WORTH, Texas – After being named MVP of the Crosstown Classic and helping TCU to a 3-0 start to the 2015 season, junior Regan McGuire has been named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

The Flower Mound, Texas native finished her opening weekend of play with 26 kills, a blistering .575 hitting clip and 15 total blocks. The middle blocker was the only player in the conference to hit above .500 to lead the league, while her 1.67 blocks per set also sits at the top of the conference standings.

McGuire saved her best performance from the weekend for the last match, as she nearly totaled a double-double with 13 kills, a .579 hitting percentage and nine total blocks in the sweep of UTEP. McGuire was the only player in the Big 12 to record nine total blocks in a three-set match.

The Horned Frogs will hit the road for the first time this season, as the team travels to San Diego, Calif., for the SDSU/USD Invitational on Sept. 4-5. TCU will open against Dartmouth on Friday, before taking on tournament hosts San Diego State and San Diego on Saturday.
