TCU Game Notes
FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU volleyball team will embark on its first road trip of the season, as the team heads to San Diego, Calif., for the SDSU/USD Invitational on Sept. 4-5.
The Horned Frogs (3-0) will open the trip by facing Dartmouth (0-0) on Friday at 6:30 p.m., CDT. On Saturday, TCU will face the two tournament hosts, as they take on San Diego State (1-2) at 12:30 p.m., CDT, before facing No. 23 San Diego at 9:30 p.m., CDT.

-The 2015 season marks the 20th season in the history of the TCU Volleyball program
-This season also marks the first under the helm of TCU alumni and Director of Volleyball Jill (Pape) Kramer
-Kramer (1996-99) was the first scholarship volleyball player on the inaugural team in 1996 and still holds the single-season and career school records in kills and total attacks
-TCU returns nine letterwinners and four starters plus the libero from a season ago
-The Horned Frogs also welcome seven newcomers, including three transfers
-For the fifth time in program history and first time since 2011, TCU started the season 3-0 after defeating Abilene Christian, Texas State and UTEP in the Crosstown Classic
-TCU opened the season at home for the first time since 2011 and are now 11-9 in season openers -Regan McGuire was named MVP, while Jillian Bergeson and Ashley Smith were named to the all-tournament team
-After totaling 26 kills and 15 total blocks, McGuire led the Big 12 last week in hitting percentage (.575) and blocks per set (1.67) and was named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week for her efforts
-Bergeson (3.11) and Smith (3.00) are each averaging over 3.00 kills per set, while also being studs from the back row with 3.56 digs per set apiece
-TCU will stick with the 6-2 offense, as Alexia Heist is joined by transfer Kaylee Smith in guiding the offense this season
-With 1,715 assists in her career, Heist sits at No. 6 in the TCU career record books and could move into the No. 5 spot by totaling 575 assists this season.
-Sutton Sunstrum will be anchoring the back row from the libero position, as she totaled 37 digs last weekend and has 4.11 digs per set
-Sunstrum is one of the three seniors on the team and is closing in on 1,000 digs with 955 in her career
Dartmouth: This will be the first meeting between the two programs.
San Diego State: TCU will face off with old Mountain West Conference rival San Diego State in Peterson Gym, with the Aztecs holding an advantage in the series record with a 9-7 record. SDSU won five of the first six matches played between the teams, before TCU strung together three straight wins from 2007-08. The Aztecs hold a 5-3 series advantage in the matches played in San Diego.
First Meeting: 10/10/97 - SDSU wins 3-1 (15-8, 15-9, 10-15, 15-7)
Last Meeting: 11/5/11 - SDSU wins 3-0 (30-28, 28-26, 26-24)
San Diego: This will be the first meeting between the two programs.
