The TCU volleyball team will take its three-match winning streak to Dallas Tuesday night as they renew their rivalry with SMU. The Frogs are in the midst of playing eight straight road matches. Match time is set for 7 p.m. at Moody Coliseum.
The Horned Frogs took home the UConn Toyota Classic title with a 3-0 record this past weekend.
Kourtney Edwards was named the Tournament MVP as well as being honored as the MWC Player of the Week for the second time in her career.
Offensively, the Frogs averaged 12.6 kills per set, led by Edwards' 3.06 per set.
Defensively, the Frogs averaged 14.8 digs per set and three blocks per set.
Kristen Hester paced the team with 25 total blocks on the weekend.
Katelyn Blackwood averaged 4.7 digs per set.
Megan Munce notched two double-doubles over the weekend.
TCU tallied 31 service aces in four matches last week and continue to lead the league with 1.83 aces per set.
SMU enters the match with a 3-4 record.
The Mustangs went 1-2 at the Alabama Invitational.
SMU has recorded victories over UT San Antonio, North Texas and Jacksonville State.
The Mustangs are 0-3 in five set matches heading into Tuesday's match.
Dana Powell is the offensive leader with 109 kills in the first seven matches, an average of 3.76 per set.
Sidney Stewart leads the team defensively with an average of 3.69 digs per set.
The Frogs and the Mustangs have previously met 12 times on the court.
SMU holds a 9-3 advantage in the all-time series.
The Mustangs have won the last two meetings.
TCU and SMU last met on Oct. 2, 2001 in Dallas with the Mustangs claiming a 3-1 victory.
The Frogs last victory in the series came back on Sept. 22, 2000 when they won 3-1 in Fort Worth.
The Frogs are 1-5 all-time in Dallas.
