FORT WORTH - Riding an eight-match winning streak, TCU's women's volleyball team returns to action Tuesday when it hosts UT Arlington for a 6:30 p.m., matchup.

The Horned Frogs (8-1) are coming off a weekend that saw them win three matches and the tournament title at the Arizona Invitational. UTA (4-7) went 1-2 over the weekend at the Hilton Classic, an event it hosted.

TCU is squaring off with its nearby natural rival for the 11th time in its 18-year history as a program.

*UT Arlington holds a 6-4 advantage, but the series is tied at two wins each all-time between the two schools in Fort Worth.
*The last meeting was a 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-19) TCU triumph in Arlinton on Sept. 19, 2009.
*The Horned Frogs have won three-straight in the series since dropping six of the first seven matchups all-time.

With three wins over the weekend, TCU improved its all-time ledger to above the .500 mark for the first time in program history. The Horned Frogs program record now stands at 262-260 through 16+ seasons.

*All of the winning seasons in TCU volleyball history have come with Prentice Lewis as head coach.
*She inherited a program that had a 57-129 record in its first six years of existence.
*TCU began the year with a 254-259 all-time record.
*The 3-0 win over Lipscomb on Sept. 7 put TCU at .500, while the 3-1 win over Arizona later in the day pushed the Frogs above the mark.

With the Big 12 not hosting a postseason volleyball tournament, TCU once again has four early-season tournaments on its schedule. Included in those four are the TCU Nike Invitational (Aug. 31-Sept. 1) and TCU Molten Invitational (Sept. 14-15).
*Over the past eight seasons, the Horned Frogs have posted a 75-12 record in early-season tournament action.
*With five-straight wins, Frogs are 8-1 this season in tournament play, including 3-0 marka at the TCU Nike Invitational and Arizona Invitational for tournament titles.
*TCU posted a 9-0 record in its beginning of the year tournaments a year ago, including six wins away from the University Recreation Center.
*Only once in the past eight seasons has TCU gone to a tournament and left with more losses than wins. The Frogs went 1-2 at the TCU Nike Invitational in 2010.

TCU's eight-match winning streak is tied for the third-longest in program history. A win Tuesday would give TCU a nine-match winning streak for just the second time in school history.

*A 13-0 start to last season is the longest winning streak all-time.
*In 2008 and 2003, TCU posted nine-match winning streaks and started the year 9-1 both times, the second-best start in TCU history.
*TCU has tallied four eight-match winning streaks all-time (2005, 2007 and twice in 2009).

Megan Munce leads the Big 12 with 0.55 aces per set after tallying two aces in 11 sets last weekend. She is second all-time at TCU for aces and is quickly approaching No. 1.

*Her third of four aces against Alabama A&M moved her into second all-time at TCU. She sits at 155 career total aces, seven behind Nirelle Hampton for the TCU record.
*Munce recorded an ace on her first serve of the 2012 season against Northern Colorado.
*Against SMU, Munce had four aces against only one error in a three-set sweep.
*As a team, TCU is second in the Big 12 in service aces at 1.55 per set.

Yvonne Igodan earned her second-straight tournament most valuable player honor over the past weekend at the Arizona Invitational.

*Igodan averaged 4.00 kills per set at the Arizona Invitational and also led the Frogs with 16 blocks.
*She was joined on the Arizona Invitational All-Tournament Team by Megan Munce and Sloane Sunstrum.
*Igodan was also the MVP of the TCU Nike Invitational, while Munce and Mattie Burleson earned spots on the All-Tournament Team.
*Munce and Igodan also were selected to the Belmont Invitational All-Tournament Team, the only Frogs to earn selection in all three tournaments this season.
*On Sept. 4, Igodan became the first TCU athlete across any sport to earn a Big 12 weekly honor.

Through nine matches this season, sophomore middle blocker Mattie Burleson has been the Horned Frogs leading defensive player on the front line.

*Leads the team with 1.23 blocks per set.
*Has six solo blocks this season to go along with 31 block assists.
*Her average of 1.23 blocks per set ranks seventh in the Big 12.
*Had a career-high eight blocks in the season opener against Northern Colorado.

TCU senior Meghan Horio, who has moved to libero this season to fill the void of Sarah Joeckel, has appeared in 106-straight matches for the Horned Frogs, the longest active streak of any Frog.

*Appeared in every match of her TCU career, dating back to 2009
*Fifth all-time at TCU for consecutive matches played
*Horio sits two matches out of fourth all-time at TCU and 23 out of first. The remaining 2012 schedule features 20 matches.

TCU senior Sloane Sunstrum is joined this season by her younger sister, Sutton, one of TCU's five freshmen. The Sunstrums are the second set of sisters to compete for the Horned Frogs in the past three seasons. Irene Hester (2007-2010) and Kristen Hester (2008-2011) played together for three years.

*Sloane has nine starts on the year, while Sutton has earned five starts for the Frogs. Sloane ranks second on the team in kills (2.13 per set).
*Their father, Spenser, played football and was a high jumper at TCU from 1979-1982. He is tied for fourth all-time at TCU with a leap of 2.13m.

TCU and Prentice Lewis have certainly been no stranger to switching conferences as Lewis is entering her third league at the helm of the Frogs and TCU is in its fourth since adding volleyball in 1996.

*Three Big 12 squads earned preseason rankings from the American Volleyball Coaches Association, with Texas leading the way at No. 2.
*The league finished 2011 with the nation's best RPI and advanced seven teams to the NCAA tournament.
*For the sixth-straight year in 2011, at least three Big 12 teams advanced to the NCAA Regional Semifinals.
