The TCU volleyball team will kick off the conference portion of their schedule Wednesday night when they travel to New Mexico. TCU is riding a three-match win streak. Game time is set for 8 p.m. (CST).
TCU claimed its second-straight tournament crown with a 3-0 record at the Akron Invitational this past weekend.
Kourtney Edwards was tabbed as the tournament MVP for the second consecutive weekend and also earned her second straight Mountain West Conference Player of the Week honor.
Overall, the Frogs were 3-1 on the week, rebounding from a tough five-set loss at SMU on Tuesday.
In the four games, the Frogs hit a blistering .232 to raise their season average to .237, which is second in the league.
Edwards hit .494 in the four matches and leads the league with a .436 attack percentage.
Edwards is also one block shy of becoming the all-time career leader. She currently has 445 and is tied with Allison Lynch.
Katelyn Blackwood earned her first-ever all-tournament nod as she averaged 4.20 digs in the four matches last week.
TCU needs just five more wins to tally 200 in the program's history.
NEW MEXICO NOTABLES
The Lobos sit atop the league with an impressive 7-1 mark so far this season.
Their lone loss was a tough five-set loss to Baylor on Sept. 11.
Offensively, Lisa Meeter's 2.61 kills per set pace the squad, while Jade Michaelsen is dishing out 9.90 assists per set.
On the defensive side, Allison Buck has notched 135 digs this season, an average of 4.35 per set.
Expect a big crowd for Wednesday's match as New Mexico is averaging 1400 fans this season.
NEW MEXICO SERIES NOTES
TCU will be looking for its first-ever win in Albuquerque.
The Frogs are 0-5 against the Lobos on their home court.
TCU has won two of the last three meetings in the series.
The Lobos lead the all-time series 7-3.
