FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU volleyball team will open its second season in the Big 12 Conference by hosting defending national champion and No. 5 Texas in a sellout at the University Recreation Center on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 6:30 p.m., with the match to be aired live on FSSW+.

The Horned Frogs (11-3, 0-0 Big 12) are on an eight-match winning streak heading into the match, while the Longhorns (6-2, 0-0 Big 12) are coming off a five-set victory over then-No. 12 Nebraska.

Yvonne Igodan has led the Frogs over the last eight matches and was named Co-MVP of the TCU Nike/Molten Invitational and MVP of the Spartan Spiketacular at UNC Greensboro. Over the last eight games, Igodan has led the team with 78 kills, 3.39 kills per set and a .531 hitting percentage. The Houston, Texas native is currently ranked No. 2 in the Big 12 Conference with a .374 hitting percentage on the season.

Shane Peters has taken over the libero jersey for the Horned Frogs and leads the team with 147 digs and 3.00 digs per set. Mattie Burleson is taking charge at the net and is ranked No. 3 in the Big 12 in blocks per set with 1.31 and leads the team with 59 blocks.

Texas enters the match ranked No. 5 in the nation and has been ranked in the AVCA Top 25 for 144 consecutive week, dating back to 2004. In the Longhorns' final pair of non-conference matches against Illinois and Nebraska, All-Americans Bailey Webster and Haley Eckerman led the Texas' offensive attack with 38 (3.80 k/s) and 36 (3.60 k/s) kills, respectively.

Texas leads the series with a 5-0 advantage, with the last meeting between the teams coming on Oct. 31, 2012, which the Longhorns won 3-0 in Fort Worth.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early to the match as parking in Lots 6 and 7 will be very limited. To accomodate everyone, Lots 1, 1A and 2 will be open to the public.
