AUSTIN, Texas - The TCU volleyball team will wrap-up the first half of Big 12 play by traveling to Austin, Texas to face No. 2 Texas on Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m., inside Gregory Gym.

The Horned Frogs (10-7, 3-4 Big 12) and the Longhorns (14-2, 6-0 Big 12) will be facing off for the 12th time in program history live on FOX Sports with Dave Barnett and Jill Dorsey-Hall on the call in the team's third of four nationally televised matches in 2016.

-The 2016 season marks the 21st season in the history of the TCU Volleyball program
-In its final preseason match of the season, TCU downed No. 8 North Carolina with the win marking the second top-10 win in program history and second straight season the team has achieved that feat
-In the win over Iowa State, Mikals became the sixth player in program history and the first under the helm of Kramer to score a triple-double with 10 kills, 10 digs and 10 blocks
-TCU has out-block their opponents in 14 of the 17 matches played and the team has recorded double-digit blocks in six matches
-Three school records have fallen this season with Sarita Mikals breaking the single-match record in digs (36-9/2/16 at Duke), while Natalie Gower recently topped the single-match record in blocks (15-10/1/16 vs. Oklahoma). The team also finished with 23.5 blocks against the Sooners for a new program best in total team blocks.

Last Time Out: #6 Kansas
In the final home match of the first half of Big 12 play, the TCU volleyball team suffered a 3-0 (25-12, 25-19, 25-22) setback to No. 6 Kansas on Saturday night at The Rickel inside the University Recreation Center.

In front of the team's fifth straight sellout of the season, the Horned Frogs (10-7, 3-4 Big 12) struggled to get a rhythm offensively as the Jayhawks (17-2, 6-1 Big 12) held TCU to its lowest hitting percentage of the season at .056 and out-blocked the Frogs with 12 total in the match.

Natalie Gower led the team offensively with 7 total kills in the match and no errors for a .412 hitting clip. Gower also led the team defensively at the net along with Anna Walsh with three total blocks each. Ashley Smith and Sarita Mikals each picked up double-digit digs with 12 and 14, respectively.

Series History
The match on Wednesday marks the 12th meeting all-time between TCU and Texas with the Longhorns grabbing a victory in 10 of the 11 meetings. The first match-up between the program dates back to 2009 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The last time the two teams met, TCU pulled off the biggest upset in program history with a 3-0 sweep of the No. 2 Longhorns in Fort Worth. The Frogs have only managed to win one set in matches played in Austin which came back in 2013 when they split the opening two sets with Texas. This will be the seventh meeting all-time between the teams that have been played in Austin.

Scouting the Opponent: #2 Texas
Texas is off to a hot start in conference play with a 6-0 record thus far with its last win coming on the road to Baylor last week in four sets. The Longhorns have only dropped two matches this season which includes a 3-0 loss to then-No. 1 Nebraska and a five-set heartbreaker to then- No. 6 Wisconsin during preseason action.

Pacing the Texas offense is freshman Micaya White, junior Ebony Nwanebu and Paulina Prieto Cerame. White (4.38) and Nwanebu (4.07) are both averaging over 4.00 kills per set, while Prieto Cerame is putting down 3.44 kills per set. Nwanebu also boasts one of the highest hitting clips on the team with a .367 efficiency. Dishing out the assists for the fourth straight season is Chloe Collins who is averaging 11.46 assists per set.

At the net defensively, sophomore Morgan Johnson is leading the charge with 1.16 blocks per set while Texas as a team is shutting down with 2.51 blocks per set. Cat McCoy is anchoring the backrow for the third straight season and has picked up 3.64 digs per set, while Collins is good for 2.19 digs per set.
