FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU volleyball team will begin the second half of Big 12 play by traveling to Austin, Texas to take on No. 1 Texas on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. The match will air live on the Longhorn Network.

This will be the seventh meeting between the Horned Frogs (13-9, 2-6 Big 12) and the Longhorns (15-2, 8-0 Big 12) and this will be the first time in program history that TCU has faced the No. 1 team in the nation.

TCU QUICK HITS
-The Horned Frogs begin the second half of Big 12 play by traveling to Austin to take on No. 1 Texas.
-TCU dropped both of its games last week with a narrow loss coming at the hands of Oklahoma (3-2) Wednesday night, before being swept by Iowa State (3-0) on Saturday.
-Yvonne Igodan continues to pace the TCU offense with 213 kills on the season and 2.70 kills per set.
-Igodan and Natalie Gower rank in the top 10 in the conference in hitting percentage at No. 7 (.320) and No. 5 (.332), respectively.
-Alexia Heist and Trisha Langely are guiding the TCU offense with 440 and 340 assists, respectively, while Langley leads the team with 22 service aces.
-Shane Peters is roaming the back court as libero and leads the team with 274 digs and 3.56 digs per set, including recording a career-high 27 digs against Oklahoma.
-Mattie Burleson is taking charge at the net and is ranked No. 8 in the Big 12 in blocks per set with 1.07 and leads the team with 79 blocks.

TCU VS. TEXAS SERIES NOTES
-TCU and Texas are meeting for the seventh time, with the Longhorns holding a 6-0 advantage in the series.
-The teams first met in the second round of the NCAA tournament in 2009, which Texas won 3-0.
-In the two meetings last fall in Big 12 play, Texas won both tilts, with the Longhorns sweeping both matches.
-In the first conference match this season, Haley Eckerman and Bailey Webster led the Longhorns to a 3-0 win in Fort Worth.

-Last Meeting: Sept. 25, 2013 - Texas 3, TCU 0

BREAKING DOWN THE OPPONENT - TEXAS
-Texas enters the match on an 11-match winning streak and an 8-0 start in the first half of conference action.
-The Longhorns are No. 1 in the AVCA poll for the second time this season after being tabbed the preseason favorites in August.
-Chloe Collins was recently named Big 12 Rookie of the Week after finishing tied for first in the league with 12.00 assists per set.
-Collins recorded 26 assists against West Virginia and 34 against Kansas State and guided Texas to a .366 team hitting percentage over the two matches.
-In the team's 11-game winning streak, All-Americans Bailey Webster and Haley Eckerman are pacing the Longhorn offense with 154 and 137 kills, respectively.
-Webster and Eckerman are both averaging over 3.00 kills per set, with Webster at 3.85 kills per set and Eckerman chipping in 3.61 kills per set.
-Texas boasts one of the toughest home courts to play on, with the Longhorns having won 44 consecutive Big 12 Conference matches in Gregory Gym.
-The Longhorns have eclipsed the .300 hitting percentage mark seven times this season including six times in the last eight matches.
-Defensively, Sarah Palmer has 232 digs on the season and 3.62 digs per set, while Khat Bell leads the team at the net with 1.10 blocks per set.

TIME TO FACE NO. 1
-For the first time in program-history, TCU will be facing off against the No. 1 team in the nation when it meets up with Texas.
-The highest ranked opponent TCU has beaten is No. 13 Colorado State, which came on Nov. 8, 2008.
-TCU is 5-44 against ranked opponents and under coach Prentice Lewis, the Horned Frogs are 5-34 against ranked opponents.
-TCU's first win against a ranked opponent came on Nov. 15, 2007, when the Horned Frogs beat then-No. 17 Colorado State 3-2 (22-30, 30-22, 22-30, 30-28, 18-16).
-TCU's last win against a ranked opponent came on Nov. 10, 2011, when the Horned Frogs beat then-No. 23 Colorado State 3-2 (25-21, 25-23, 18-25, 20-25, 15-11).
-In 2012, TCU faced a school-record nine ranked opponents in a single season.

TV DARLINGS
-TCU is making appearances on the FOX Broadcasting channel six times this season and other stations a total of 10 times.
-The Frogs won their first television match of the season and home opener against North Texas on Sept. 11, 3-0 and defeated Stephen F. Austin 3-1 in the team's second TV match.
-Big 12 matches against Texas (Sept. 25), West Virginia (Oct. 2), at Baylor (Oct. 16) and Oklahoma (Oct. 23) will also get the television coverage on FSSW+ and FOX Sports Southwest.
-The Frogs will also be getting coverage at Kansas on Sept. 28 (MetroSports/ESPN3), at Kansas State on Oct. 5 (FOX College Sports Central/K-StateHD.TV), at Texas on Oct. 30 (Longhorn Network) and at Oklahoma on Nov. 13 (Sooner Sports TV).
