Walsh Garners NIVC Honors

FORT WORTH, Texas – TCU volleyball junior Anna Walsh garnered two more postseason honors on Monday as she was named to the National Invitational Volleyball Championship (NIVC) All-Tournament Team and the VolleyMob NIVC Dream Team.

Walsh led TCU offensively and defensively as the team advanced to the NIVC Semifinals for the first time in program history. Walsh put down a team-best 4.00 kills per set over the four matches with double-digit kills in every match and a career-high 25 kills against North Texas. The junior was also a stud on defense with 1.60 blocks per set and recorded over 5.0 blocks in each match played. Walsh hit .309 for the tournament with a .442 hitting clip against North Texas and a .350 hitting percentage in the sweep of Green Bay. The Grapevine, Texas native averaged 4.83 points per set over the four matches and also picked up five digs and four assists.

The honors mark the fourth and fifth of the season for Walsh who was named to the Preseason All-Big 12 Team, All-Big 12 Second Team and AVCA All-Southwest Region Team during 2017.

TCU wrapped up the 2017 season by advancing to the NIVC Semifinals in the team’s first-ever appearance in the tournament and third-straight post-season appearance. The Horned Frogs went 15-17 overall during the season and 4-12 in Big 12 action.
