XC Finishes Seventh at Regionals

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – TCU women’s cross country team competed at the NCAA South Central Region Championship on Friday. Led by five personal bests, the Horned Frogs finished seventh overall.

Brenley Goertzen was the highest finisher for TCU, finishing 12th overall with a 20:18.2 mark. Goertzen, along with Nicole Hicks (21:21.8), Lindsay Tomaini (21:43.3), and Molly Hamel (22:37.8) set personal bests on the day.

Evelyn Mandel ran the fastest mark of her freshman season, finishing in 21:01.8 for 38th place.

“I’m extremely proud of these women,” cross country coach Jennifer Fazioli said. “It was a solid end to the season.”

With the conclusion of the cross country season, indoor track and field is up next. The indoor season begins on Dec. 1, with the Dallas Market Hall Indoor Meet.
