Preview: Joe Piane Invitational

FORT WORTH, Texas – TCU women’s cross country’s season continues in South Bend, Ind., at Notre Dame’s Joe Piane Invitational, where the Horned Frogs will face the deepest field of teams they’ll see in the regular season. The women’s 5000-meter race is scheduled for Friday at 1 p.m.

• TCU’s women have competed in three meets so far this season, running two 4,000-meter races and one 6,000.
Brenley Goertzen made her season debut at the Texas A&M Invitational, where she finished second overall.
• Senior Nicole Hicks has provided consistency in all three meets so far this season, leading TCU in the first two and finishing behind Goertzen in College Station.

•High ranking teams and 2016 All-Americans abound in the field at Notre Dame, including four top-ten teams and eight top-40 finishers from the 2016 NCAA Cross Country championships. Highlighting the field are No.1 Colorado, No.3 New Mexico, No.7 North Carolina State, and No.9 Arkansas.
• Host school Notre Dame is ranked No.12 in the latest addition of the USTFCCCA National Polls.
• In addition to TCU, No.32 Baylor and Texas will represent the Big 12.
